Four years ago, Chris Burch developed the first luxury resort of its kind in Nihiwatu. So spectacular is the facility that in 2016 it gained recognition as the best hotel in the world. It is in 2012 that Chris and his friend James McBride decided to purchase a property whose location is in Sumba, Indonesia. Since the property was spacious and had beautiful beach scenery, the duo decided to renovate Nihiwatu and set up a luxury resort. Apart from giving back to the community, the facility was acquired as an asset, so that it can benefit Christopher’s children in future. To date, the refurbished facility houses 27 private villas. It is also Christopher’s residence, the Raja Mendaka. The resort station is situated in a remote area, making it the most preferred tourist destination in the world. With the availability of plunge pools, visitors can either swim in the Indian Ocean or artificial swimming pools within the resort. Related article on
